I’ve never used a travel advisor, what are the benefits and value of working with one?

I am not sure what activities I want to do yet during my trip, but I want to lock in the hotels and flights. Can those be booked later on?
Yes, we can absolutely layer in activities throughout the booking process. We recommend booking the large items of your trip such as hotels, cruise, flights and then we can add in experiences day by day once we have the basic trip outline. For activities and experiences that are in high demand, we will provide recommendations on which need to be booked further in advance.
How far in advance should I book my trip?
This is a great question and in general we recommend booking sooner than later as travel remains very strong across the globe. For popular bucket list trips like the Galapagos, Machu Picchu, Patagonia, expeditions etc, we recommend booking 9 to 12 months in advance. This is also especially true for the festive holiday season and trips centered around special events like the Olympics, solar eclipse or other unique events.
What if I book my trip far in advance and then can’t go anymore?
While we go to great lengths during your trip preparation to ensure the most seamless experience, we also understand that in travel some things cannot be controlled and there will be surprises along the way. These could include a knee injury before a ski trip or a volcanic eruption at your destination (both of which have happened!). We always recommend buying trip insurance to protect your investment. In addition, we will clearly provide all the deposit information and any cancellation penalties.
I am more of a spontaneous last minute traveler, are there still options for me?
We love being spontaneous and will do our best to find the perfect last minute destination. With travel demand at an all time high, finding availability can be challenging; however, being flexible will often unlock some great travel adventures. We also receive last minute amazing travel deals from a number of our suppliers so please reach out to us even if it’s last minute as I am sure we will be able to find something to satisfy your wanderlust!
That brings up a good question, do you always recommend travel insurance?
Yes, we personally always purchase travel insurance for ourselves and recommend it to all of our clients! Most health insurance providers do not cover for injuries or accidents outside of the USA. In addition, insurance can cover trip cancellations, lost luggage, travel delays and emergency evacuations in the event of a natural disaster. Policies can be completely customized to meet your specific medical and coverage needs.
